Bad Bad Bad

Yesterday the New York Observer's John Koblin cited evidence that 2008 may be the worst year in modern newspaper history. Okay, he asked if this was the case. But who's disputing? "On Wednesday morning at 11 a.m., Arthur Sulzberger and Janet Robinson will be managing a conference call that, from the looks of it, won't be much fun," he writes. "They'll be reporting The New York Times Company's second-quarter earnings."

I'd probably fell bad about that, if print media didn't have blood on its hands from spreading Bush propaganda...

DZ, dude, there was as much blood on the keyboards of this nation (if not more) spreading that propaganda...

I'm not that bent out of shape about print (at least in terms of news) going away... news is news and is best immediately assimilated as it comes along.... perfect for the internet.

And yet USA Today, hand in hand with McDonalds, continues to spread like a cancer.

Yet with "all the options" out there for information, people are probably less informed now than any time since, say, the Dark Ages.

LA Times is shutting down its book review. While the masses can find tons of info about movies, tv, and music online, this is hardly the case for books, already an endangered species.
