An an eight-week-old female, Aura was brought in to be a homie for Mouse. But so far Mouse, looking to make it clear who's boss, has done nothing but chase her around and beat her up. I had presumed that Mouse, who's only twelve weeks old this weekend, wouldn't be that much into territorial machismo.

She'll get over it. A few years ago we brought home two abandoned six-week-old female kittens, and our two-year-old male cat didn't show any aggression, but he treated them with haughty disdain for the first three or four months.

"Those little vermin are beneath my notice! I can't believe you brought some little vermin into my house to live!"

After eight months they all became fast friends, sleeping in a cat pile together.

Things change. My sister-in-laws cats have switched personalities - Layla has become laid back, with Grace losing her shyness and becoming more assertive to fill the void.

Anyway, Aura is a beauty - I'm sure she'll fill your life with joy

If mouse is a male, there should be no problem with eventual acceptance. On the other hand, if mouse is another female, there may be a lot more difficulty getting her to accept this newbie.

Mouse is just trying to show her who's boss. Soon they will be good and devoted pals, only make sure you "fix" these girls; you don't want an in-heat cat anywhere near you, seriously, take my advice on this one.

You have to introduce them slowly. Maybe keep one in one room and tho other in another room and then slowly let them get used to each other. I did the same thing around 8 years ago and it worked.
