Good God. Who's idea was it to use a dog running through the surf with a very obvious and bad voice-over from Aniston? And why must Owen Wilson still get props for his acting? He's in just bad/awful movies. I really never expect much from Aniston in movies but at least she does have some acting skills. Her nipples are always right on "cue".

I'm just hoping the movie itself is not as stupid and lame as this trailer.
I was really hoping it would be that chase from The Seven Ups.

Owen Wilson gets a lifetime of good will for Dignan, though he continues to squander it. It's been almost thirteen fucking years.

Gee. If only The Dark Knight had that kind of lead in, we'd be talking 190 to 200...dollars. Because people of all ages would leave the theater, enter the projection booth, and urinate on every moving part they could find.

(be warned, if black humor is not your cup o' tea, skip this one)
You know God really is a "absentee landlord" when Heath Ledger dies of exhaustion, yet is first thought a suicide but somehow Owen Wilson fails in his attempt.

fails in his attempt was an unfortunate way to have ended that. I don't mind black humor, but I do mind bad humor.

Am I in the minority? I liked watching the dog run. Very clever, very anti-trailer.
I liked the dog run too--I love dogs in general--however, having read the book a few weeks back, I didn't think the story was all that to make a movie on.

Jon Katz's dog books are far superior to Marley and Me. His first has been made into a film with Jeff Bridges but it's gotten no publicity and doesn't appear to have a release date: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0808232/

The two things that leapt to mind when I saw this trailer recently in the theater:
1. God help us all.
2. There's a money maker right there.

after going to about twenty movies in the last few months and watching a hundred more trailers and seeing mindless junk like DK and Iron Man pull in the mewling masses like cattle, this looks like a movie about a cute dog. Is it a lab? pretty little fellow. Count me in.
