Wolfie

A terrible-quality bootleg video of the Wolfman trailer that was shown at Comic-Con. Some guy in the audience apparently shot it with a cell-phone camera. That aside, the vibe feels right and the content seems promising.

I actually think it looks pretty terrible. I got MARY REILLY vibes for some reason. Benecio seems very miscast.

Let's talk about the horrible quality WOLVERINE trailer though, which kicks ass. Liev Schreiber like I've never seen him, and Danny Huston as new Brian Cox is exactly right.

Burma: I was thinking "Brotherhood of the Van Helsing" myself. But it's not Benecio who's the problem as much as the fact that he's in the background instead of the foreground.

Oh, and Wolverine looks ok for a b-film, but not an X-men spin-off.

I think it looks great! Thank you for finding that. I have been trying to track it down all day. I had to miss it at the Con.

Jesus. Really? I think it looks bland and familiar.

Looks good, if a little too much like Coppola's Dracula. The Rocketeer is one of the most underrated movies going though, so i'm hoping Joe Johnston has a winner on his hands.

I dug The Wolfman trailer. Has the vibe of an updated, big-budget Hammer movie. It hit all the right notes for me.

How does a B-movie WOLVERINE not sound exactly right? I see what you're saying, it's a little small, but I'm hoping that's just because there's only so much footage they could show so far.

Favorite part of the Comic-Con bootleg: girls wooing at the split-second shot of Ryan Reynolds. When is this guy finally going to break?

I think the footage looks fucking sweet and Benicio looks PERFECT in this. Yes, The Rocketeer is extremely underrated, as is October Sky. Johnston may not be an auteur but he's a solid craftsman. That said, this looks like his best work. Looks gruesome, stylish, and fun.

Didn't realize Wolfman was a period thing until now. Figured it contained some kind of prologue/flashback, but was contemporary. Yes, Del Toro looks very out of place in that setting.

Might be fun, but I never, ever want to see that "face-to-face-with-the-monster" shot from Alien 3 again.
