Black Enough?

Although what this guy really means is, "Why don't you stand up and fire back hard at the racially-driven attacks?"

I don't think that's what that guy meant to say at all, he seemed pretty clear on his message.

But this is getting boring. Five of your last seven posts have been about Obama. Post more pictures of your kittens.

And I didn't think i'd see a response by either candidate more embarrasing than that of McCain when asked about birth control .

What a nuanced and faith-inspring response Obama gave. Really shows good jusgment.

I'd love to know what the sign said ... probably wrote out the canned "black, white, brown, gay, straight, purple" cliche Obama uses over and over and over.

Still, want to vote for the guy, just waiting for someone to hold a flame to him and snap him out of the horrific trance he seems to be in when he shares his plans for the economy.

Where's short-round when you need him?

And you gotta love the reaction from the crowd to what was a sincere question

People who think of themselves as enlightened and open-minded ... that is until someone asks a question they don't like or understand.

Obama may have punted, but at least he gave the guy a chance ... the group of Obama supporters present at the time, however, acted disgracefully.

This cult-of-Obama phenomenon is going to hurt him in the end, generating votes for McCain from people who just can't bare the thought of these sycophants getting their way.

this isn't a bad thing for Obama, necessarily. It might be a good thing to have on the talkies this weekend - Obama wrestling with angry young black men - at a time when the McCain camp is trying to get scare everyone (esp Jeff's fav, The Rubes) by subtly reminding them Obama's black. Sister Soulja? Kinda?

Hate to say it, Hillary would be on McCain's ass like a rube on crystal meth. She would - love her or hate her - be stomping a hole in the old man's left-my-mind-in-a-3 foot-cell ass.

I think a discussion of race and of his race is healthy. There is the thought in Illinois among (black) people that he didn't do much as a senator for the state and for the community. He wasn't my senator so I wouldn't know. But the young brother forgets that as President, he doesn't represent ONLY black people -- and that is the fear of white voters, that he will "favor" blacks. Give us the jobs (affirmative action and civil rights), give us better housing, etc. which is the silliest thing that could be. If they look at the black senators and governors before Obama, they didn't do a lot for the black community either. Look at Patterson for example; is he out there taking up for black people? So the young brother needs to start at the local level first before he goes to the national level and approach those black governors about their commitment to the black community.
Funny, nobody asks that question of white candidate.
