As soon as I heard a certain actor say these four words, I knew he had a certain je ne sais quoi -- presence, gravity, grit. I was right, it turned out. Identify the actor, the film and year of release. Bonus points if you can describe his final scene.

Tommy Lee Jones in JACKSON COUNY JAIL in '75 or '76, I think. I don't remember if he died or not, but I sure remember his hair.

I remember having a similar feeling about Samuel Jackson the first time I really noticed him strolling across a room to meet Willem Dafoe in White Sands. Smooth, confident, in command, but a little menacing, maybe hiding something, maybe up to no good. All in the way he strolled across that room. I thought, this guy's in supporting roles now, but he's going to be a movie star.

This will probably come across as weird or something, but I remember seeing Tommy Lee Jones on the soap opera "One Life to Live" and watching him then, he had that elusive "star quality". He also managed to make whomever he worked with improve their game 100%. Daytime doesn't always get its due, but over the last 30 - 40 years, there have been quite a few actresses and several actors who have started off in that medium and gone on to success in movies. Besides Jones, there's Marisa Tomei, Julianne Moore, Meg Ryan, Kevin Bacon, Meg Ryan, Laurence Fishburne, Alec Baldwin, to name a few.
