"You make that sound, Keith...I can do the same to you, okay? That's what I thought...all right? And I said it." -- Chris Matthews to Keith Olbermann during yesterday's discussion about the Hillary Clinton speech (which hadn't been delivered at that point).
This morning a Huffington Post person described it thusly:
"Discussing Hillary Clinton's upcoming speech, Matthews began talking about women 's reactions to Hillary. His producers, likely wary of any more cries of sexism against the host and the network, presumably tried to get him to wrap, as he said, 'I'll wrap in a second, I'll wrap in a second.'
"Olbermann then tried to attribute Matthews' point about women voters to Rachel Maddow, to which Matthews said, 'Good ideas can be shared.'
"Then, when introducing Steny Hoyer, Olbermann mocked Matthews for '[going] off at the mouth' and made a hand gesture implying that Matthews talked forever.
"'You make that sound, Keith,' Matthews said. '"I can do the same to you, okay? That's what I thought...all right? That's what I thought. And I said it.'"

MSNBC is a joke and those two clowns are the primary reasons.
Did you read further down on the Huff Post? Olbermann wants Brokaw out?? His ego is hilarious! He burned himself out of multiple sports jobs the same way. What a maroon.

Olbermann's a hero these days because he takes big swings at the right, but he doesn't seem to be the kind of guy you'd want to be within 10 feet of. I'm not sure why he needs to dig at Matthews. It's all very entertaining, but it really speaks to levels of political discourse. There is just no respect anymore.

Saw that dust-up last night and wondered why it didn't get more coverage today. Brian Williams also snapped at Olbermann the other night, apparently for being too impressed by Michelle Obama. Anyone who thinks NBC doesn't have a rightwing undertone didn't see Matty Lauer interview Kitty Kelley four years ago. For further proof, read Arthur Kent's book.
Good thing Rachel Madow has been counter-balancing the bluster. "Post-rational," the term she coined to describe the PUMAs, has already entered the lexicon. And it applies to an awful big segment of the population. Just spoke to a (female) friend, bright but apolitical, who announced that she's voting for McCain because a Republican co-worker told her Democrats "are running on free health care for illegal aliens." And even though she doesn't like Hillary, she can't stand that a man "broke in line ahead of her."
And oh yeah ... my friend has had three abortions, hates W. and has nothing but Daddy's money to retire on. But she'll be damned if an illegal alien gets a free check-up on her.
Post. Friggin'. Rational.

The nervous breakdown of MSNBC. Olbermann really ought to go back to finding witty ways to describe double plays.

The best part was the train whistle blowing over their own steam last night. The egotism of these folk is astounding.

Just adding an extra poiint here about Olbermann that I think no one has mentioned yet. I was a fan of his when he was on ESPN but I do recall that when the Ken Burns Baseball doc came out Keith was very upset that he was not included as a "talking head expert" etc. I could be wrong but I think he knocked the show at that time. Now the news has come out that Ken is adding an extra "inning" to his Baseball doc. He was on MSNBC with Keith the other night since Ken Burns had put together the Ted Kennedy tribute. And Ken added that Keith will be in this new addition to his Baseball documentary. Hmm.. I guess now Keith will say nice things about Ken Burns and his documentary. Anyway.. Keith has some good ideas etc but I am afraid his ego could ruin this time in his career just like it did back in the old Sportcenter Days. Pride often does come before a fall. He better watch out.
