Most people listening to this mostly forgotten Mothers of Invention song would, depending on their orientation and sensitivity levels, find it fairly offensive. (A Jenny McCarthy movie with the same title was also judged offensive by most critics.) I vaguely recall four or five sexist and anti-cop rap songs that offended many folks seven or eight or nine years ago, but the art of pissing people off en masse with a vulgar song (like, for example, the 42 year-old They're Coming To Take Me Away) is mostly a thing of the past.

I think the difficulty of one particular song having an effect on people has slipped largely because it's harder and harder to get people to listen to anything that they don't already approve of. How can anything become controversial when every listen is narrowcasting?

The problem is it's gotten too hard to truly offend people. Sure you can take the easy route with some folks by making fun of retards or whatever, but it's impossible to really get under the skin of the masses. people are too jaded.

I'll never forget Charlton Heston angrily reading the lyrics to Body Counts 'Cop Killer'. "Die..Die..Die Pig Die!" in that great voice of his. Don't understand how it's never been sampled.

There are a lot more offensive Zappa songs than this one-and this one has a housewive's dog performing oral sex on her!

Ugh, Zappa. Like Dr. Demento novelty songs performed by Rush.
"Trouble Everyday." That's the one Zappa song I can stand. And the stuff he did with Captain Beefheart, but only because it's Captain Beefheart.

Trouble is a great Zappa song, but I have to say I'm a huge fan of his instrumental music. He left us way too early.
