A day of thought about this new W poster and I can't feel anything. It's okay but the content is zilch. "Get ready"...fine. Why did Lionsgate go with a poster that says almost nothing? Because they want to build up a sense of generic interest rather than convey an idea that they're releasing a Bush-basher?

It's a cool poster, in my opinion. Subtle, but dramatic in its own way.

While I am perversely interested in seeing this, I also think it's a decent poster. It's intriguing, which is great because every one of these lefty hit pieces has failed at the box office. They need to spark some interest here.

It reminds me of the scenes that bookend Michael Moore's Fahrenheit 911.
Cool poster, though.

The poster says a lot about W: All made up and nothing else.

I just don't get the point of it. Is it saying that politicians are made-up and phony, just camera-ready products? Don't we already know that?

"W" is a line of posh hotels. Anyone else think the name should be "Dubya"? Or "Junior" or "43"?

No Mark. "W." is a great title.
I also liked the original idea of calling the "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" remake "Wonka."
"Junior" is a movie about Arnold Schwarzenegger getting pregnant.
Thank god you're not in the business of naming movies.

It is nice how the flags, the arm and the head form a 'W' but do they also, subliminally, for the mask and cowl of a certain popular film character of the moment?

Another reason it's a great poster: Lionsgate knows they are going to get The Reagans levels of vitriol and attention simply by putting this thing out (any bets which group will call for boycotts first?) and the "Get Ready" works as a heads-up.

"Get ready" is a great slogan. And the picture and poster ARE cool. Maybe you're supposed to feel...nothing. That's what most folk feel anyway for...him.

I think it's funny that the poster has a clear message (here comes an empty suit TV talking head guy to say what his handlers told him to) and it's too subtle for Jeff to get.
Apparently because it doesn't have dripping fangs and swastikas all over it.

Who else is getting any vibes about this movie being fair enough to get more hatred from the left than the right?

That was funny.
And I like the poster. The movie pretty much speaks for itself.

I've seen plenty of shots where Brolin looks amazingly like W. This one, though, screams THE TOM BROKAW STORY.

They should have used the shot from Letterman when W wiped his glasses on an unsuspecting woman's shirt during the commercial break. That sums the man up better than the above poster.

You nailed it, dangovich. I always hope people drag that clip out and show it. I like to think I am open-minded enough to give people a shot, but when I saw him do that, i knew he had nothing but disdain for the common person and that his regular ol' boy crap was a facade.
For those who did not see the clip, during a commercial break, a person from Letterman's crew comes out to do something with Dave's makeup/wardrobe and leans past W. He proceeds to clean his glasses on the tail of her shirt as if she were the "help" and obviously treating her like a lower class object. He thinks nothing of it.

I'm guessing this film will BOMB... which is appropriate for Bush. Americans are tired of George Bush and ready to move on, so I seriously doubt many of them will want to fork down $10 to watch a movie about him.
