Cloverfield [BLU-RAY] (Paramount Home Entertainment, 6.3.2008)
Disguised under deliberately goofy, yet deliciously edible-sounding, aliases such as Cheese and Slusho, Matt Reeves'
Cloverfield was produced and rushed into theaters under an equally appetizing shroud of secrecy. From last year's incredibly elusive Super Bowl ad to the film's viral marketing campaign,
Cloverfield had everybody scratching their heads and drooling in anticipation. Aside from the as-yet untitled title and the
Blair Witch-ian visual style, the film's biggest appeal was the enigmatic creature who was last (un)seen hurling the decapitated head of the Statue of Liberty onto the crowded streets of New York City. All we knew about the mysterious beast was that it was big and angry. Now that the highy-anticipated project has come and gone, one question has fortunately been answered:
Cloverfield was a major success.

WOW! Aura looks like she is one of the famous "mitten" cats -- so named because she has 5 fingers on her paw instead of the usual 4 (+the dew claw). Ernest Hemingway had a long lineage of cats with this trait, the descendents of which still prowl his old home in Key West. Am I right?

Oops! I meant 6, not five. Most cats have 5 but they usually have four long ones with claws and then the side or dew claw

It's clear from the look on Aura's face that she feels O'Reilly won.
Mouse doesn't give a shit.

Austin111 - they are called Polydactyls. It's one of those gene things...

We never had a poly but have had a couple with prehensile tails.

Yes, the cats at Hemingway's compound are descendants of one cat. However, polydactyls are found not just there. Aura does look like a polydactyl from that photo. Guess only Jeff knows for sure.

I was in Key West last October and the Hemingway cats are still going strong. There was a movement afoot to get rid of them because they kept getting out of the Hemingway compound and eating the local birds (including chickens). But there was an uproar, they put special fencing on top of the garden walls, and the cats remain.
