George Bush is the greatest force for organized terrorism (in terms of aiding and recruiting and doing its bidding) in the history of the world, and it's time, on this solemn day, we started seriously addressing it. Too much sauce you say? Tell that to the boys dodging bullets from barbarians right now in Iraq.

I can only imagine if Al Gore had been declared the rightful winner of the 2000 election what would have happened after 9/11 TM......
Maybe the Large Hadron Collider will tell us someday. :)
I agree with Keith in that if McCain knows how to capture Bin Laden and bring him to justice, he should alert the proper authorities now, or pull a Rambo and go get him himself. :)

D.Z: If Gore had been elected, there still would have been a 9/11, but I doubt Gore would have wasted a trillion dollars and 4100 American lives in its aftermath. The vision of Uncle Sam stomping and kicking on the global stage, in an effort to distract the audience while he siphons off oil with his free hand, is purely a republican creation. I like to believe Gore would have had enough smarts to refrain from going down the same road. After all, it doesn't take much.
Powerfully stated if a bit histrionic. Pretty damn logical, though. Why the hell haven't you helped us catch Bin Laden yet per your own statement, McCain?

Snore, Olbermann's act is so dialed it's approaching parody. With this level of angry rhetoric he's clearly decided to play to his base and alienate the middle. It'll play well here and on moveon.org, but everyone else is flipping the channel
I do indeed loathe and despise Bush for the
misery and useless havoc he has wreaked on
both the USA and the world...But Olbermann's
increasingly hysterical rants have done nothing
but diminish him, demote him, and now have
reduced him to a satircal figure. He started out
as a witty, sharp liberal preacher...then he ended up just preaching to the converted...and now...
...sadly, he's just preaching to himself. Howling
at McCain the same way he howls at Bush will
do no good for him, or his agenda.
I fully expect and look forward to Keith criticizing McCain...but McCain is a different
individual....if Olbermann's going to scream
bloody murder at every mention of McCian, he has simply lost me.
As aggravating as most people find such overheated rhetoric, it's actually a pretty smart tactical move...what are Limbaugh and O'Rielly going to do, attack him for making long-winded, angry monologues?
If they can't engage the way he makes his point because it's to similar to their own, they either have to engage his ideas (in which case he wins, usually) or let them go unchallenged...
I seriously doubt Olbermann is worried that he's alienated moviemaniac2002 from his ever-growing viewership.
Olbermann and Rachel Maddow have made MSNBC one of the few commentary shows worth watching - the network knows this - so HE readers aren't his target demo. Shocker!

if Gore had been president on 9/11, the Republicans would have spent these last seven years painting him as the weak President who allowed us to be attacked by terrorists. Maybe the left should do that to Bush.
The right may be evil, but they sure know how to spin...
Keith's a caricature of himself at this point with his phony outrage.
If politics is your religion and you have to view people with different opinions as evil, then we might as well change the names of Democrats and Republicans to Jews and Palestinians.

"if Gore had been president on 9/11, the Republicans would have spent these last seven years painting him as the weak President who allowed us to be attacked by terrorists."
Bullshit. If Gore had been president on 9/11, the spin would've been so strong that he wouldn't have been re-elected in 2004, probably wouldn't have even run. I wouldn't be surprised if they'd have tried to impeach him on something.

To DZ: I do hate to break it to you, but Al-queda had been planing the attacks since early '99. Please don't bother to let facts get in the way of your screeds.
I will say that we should have followed the Army's plan for the war; wipe out al-queda and the taliban in place in Afghanistan, decimate the warlords, and spend the funds promised by the US and EU (which neither actually gave) to build the infastructure and promote national stability, and after that was complete, swivel towards Sudan.
Bush and his crony's lost me the minute they discounted that, held up over 35,000 troops meant for combat operations in Afghanistan, and focused on, of all places, Iraq.
Make no mistake though, whatever president we had, democrat or republican, we were going to go to war. Just not in Iraq.
"Monday night, Barack Obama's interview with presumed enemy Bill O'Reilly had more than twice as many viewers as his interview with presumed pal Keith Olbermann.
The two taped interviews aired head-to-head at 8 p.m. Eastern and O'Reilly's show on Fox News drew 4.6 million viewers compared to the 1.9 million who tuned into Olbermann's show on MSNBC."
Auggie: "To DZ: I do hate to break it to you, but Al-queda had been planing the attacks since early '99. Please don't bother to let facts get in the way of your screeds."
I guess you're ignoring that facts, too, since Clinton stopped the Millennium Bombing attempt, while Bush's brother gave the hijackers flight training.
