In celebration of my escape from Toronto and return to Los Angeles, I'll be seeing this sucker again sometime later today for the pure misanthropic pleasure of it.
This is flat out awful.
I expect better from the Coens. It was a GREAT trailer followed by a lazy lazy lazy film. If they had just worked a bit harder and actually defined the film... makes me really mad.

Saw it this afternoon and I'm still smiling at certain moments. And with this and "No Country For Old Men", have the Coen brothers officially become the masters of the anti-climactic finale? I loved the way this thing ended and based on conversations I heard while exiting the theater, this movie is getting just as much buzz as No Country's quick fade to black.....
The only thing that bothers me about this is, if they were capable of making a film this good, why did they spend so much time dicking around with Ladykillers and Intolerable Cruelty, among others?
Watching the Focus title card on this preview reminds me of the immature douchebag sitting behind me at the show last night - "Oh look, the O is out of focus. They should fix that." His friends kinda chuckle, but not cos it was funny. Throughout the trailers he was making remarks that neither approached clever or astute. My inner Wells was beginning to boil, but thankfully he shut up after the "focus" comment. He probably hated the movie. His sense of humour wasn't up to par for this sorta riot. And totally agree Gordie...this was the movie that both of those should have been - at least in tone.

Saw it last night. Loved it. The Vista's showing a Three Stooges short before the film!
