Distortion is such a weasel word. Most of those were outright stinking lies. Why are so many so gutless? "Distortion" has some linguistic meaning, but shouldn't be used to soften an honest evaluation of rank, disgusting, dishonest ugliness perpetrated by McCain and Rove (or his disciples). I hate those bastards if you force me to think about them.

My main problem with this trailer is when some girl says "A lot of people agree with us that this guy should be out of office and it's time for him to go."
Uh... Bush will be out of office. That's kind of how the whole process works.
Also, if the kids couldn't get excited about getting Bush out in 2004, I doubt they'll be coming out in droves now.

Not to defend those who sat on their thumbs and let Bush get in again four years ago, but Kerry wasn't the most inspiring candidate the Dems have ever had — I joined Jon Stewart in wincing at Kerry's ineffectual droning. Obama, though, he seems to be creating lots of buzz among the youngsters.
One thing the defeatist Dems seem to be forgetting is that, for all that's stacked against him, Obama is no Kerry or Gore or Dukakis. They were human sleeping pills (Gore, prior to his reinvention as a galvanizing travelling ecological wizard, was a snore). Obama isn't. I foresee 1992 all over again. Only difference is, Obama doesn't have a Perot drawing off votes from McCain.

Actually, after a little bit of research, what the girl said makes sense as this was filmed in 2004.
My bad.

Martin: Ron Paul might be his Perot, actually.

D.Z.: True, possible.
Also, people are fretting way too much about Palin, a ditz-apocalypsist clown shoe who will be remembered as such, if at all.

Ron Paul is only on the ballot in like 3 states. Bob Barr and Chuck Baldwin could be his Perot, or more likely, his Nader.

I sincerely hope that you're right. And yes, her novelty seems to be wearing off already.
Then again, remember Ronnie Reagan, with his shoe-black hair, rouged cheeks, wobbling head and Fifties corporate spokesman demeanor?
He looked like a grotesque fool to some of us -- and a combination of John Wayne and Jesus to others.
