"If the elections were held today, Barack Obama would receive support from 53 percent of voters, against John McCain's 39 percent, the latest New York Times/CBS News poll has found."
An interesting part of the poll were Palin's numbers: 32/41 favorable/unfavorable.
She is dragging McCain right into defeat. The more she ends up on the news at rallies, the more undecideds turn away from McCain.
What's hysterical about this is how much adulation the base has for her, oblivious to the fact that she is so not loved by the general public and is going to cost them the election.
"CBS polls have leaned about 3 points more Democratic than the average this year. In other words, our baseline expectation is that a CBS poll should be showing about an 11-point for Obama right now."
I don't trust polls, and I don't trust the majority of white voters. However, let me recite something that happened today. I went to early voting at our public library. And it was PACKED WITH OLD SENIOR ASIANS. I mean, these people were on walkers and they were one foot in the grave. PACKED and the line was long. Anyway, there was this old Asian guy and he had a translator, and he kept asking, "where's Obama"....I knew then they were all voting Obama. Couldn't find his name, but they wanted to mark their X.
So I wrote that to state that there are a lot of immigrants in this country, they're practically hidden, you just don't see them out and about, and those are the people most likely will vote Obama. The Republicans have a scant chance with the immigrants.
Sad to say but I agree w/ iamwhoiam - I think it's gonna go down to the wire. I live in Illinois but this election I wish I was in a different state 'cause Obama needs my vote more elsewhere. Here in illinois it'll be a landslide victory for him over McCain.

Yesterday's GWU poll had it 53-40, Massey.
More importantly: boy that W. ticker is exciting! Will they have one for the Pay Per View release too?

How long 'til McCain supporters trot out the "Dewey Defeats Truman" story?
And Massey, I thought you voted for Bob Barker, or RuPaul, or whoever. What do you care? You don't have a dog in this fight.
