The two funniest things in this Fox News video report are (a) the white-haired wife in the rear pushing her husband's hand down when the reporter says "who's for McCain?" and (b) the sound of people in the room (mostly 65-plus) chortling when the reporter says the vote is generally split with a little bit of a lean for Obama.

Didn't the Daily Show do this exact same bit a few days ago?

It's also worth noting that the reporter himself raises his hand when asking who's going to vote for McCain, but then he drops the hand while asking about Obama.
Fair and balanced, indeed.

Soledad O'Brien was with 32 Ohioans last night post-debate, middle-aged to seniors. You could tell CNN cast Undecideds to twiddle audience response dials during the debate. They were mostly reluctant to declare their personal preferences, or whether the debate had changed anything. But when Soldedad asked, "Who thinks Obama is going to win the election?" almost all of them raised their hands.
The Undecideds are gong to vote for who they think is going to win. And doggone it, Joe, don't ya know they think it's gong to be this Obama fella.

Wells to Bonifer: "The Undecideds are gong to vote for who they think is going to win," you say. Okay, fine, then Obama has it in the bag. Of course, we should all think about using a term besides "independent" when we're describing this late-breaking voting bloc. The word I have in mind is "sheep."

I love the older woman who throws up both her hands in support of Obama. I guarantee she's the sort of grandma who has mint green Oreo's on stock whenever her grandkids come over to visit.

What's Fox trying to sell with this story? That PA is a swing state when it isn't?

"The Undecideds are gong to vote for who they think is going to win."
My brother knew a guy who always waited to the last day to see who was ahead in the polls. He said he had never voted for a loser, as if that were some shit-brained thing to be proud of. He never saw it as anything other than a horse race (just like most of our media).
Years ago Bill Murray told Letterman that his teen-aged son backed any team that was winning, and was always ready to ditch them as soon as they began losing.
Letterman said, I'm glad to see you're raising him with the right values.

I use to live in NorthEast PA, and I actually have been in that Dunkin' Donuts. Makes me a little nostalgic.
The area is strongly democratic and any reporter thinking they were going to get a nearly evem-split of supporters for each side just plainly wasn't doing their homework. Of course, and reporter worth their salt would go out looking for a story, not for facts that already fit a preordained story.
