Yesterday Blogger Interrupted's Tim Russo posted a video composed of several McCain-Palin supporters sharing their fascinating views before Wednesday afternoon's McCain-Palin rally in Strongsville, Ohio, a suburb of Cleveland.
"My camera was rolling for literally seconds before people happily said to me, on camera, that Barack Obama is a terrorist," Russo writes. "If I hadn't spent most of my time at the event inside, waiting for the candidates to show up, I could have gotten dozens of these people on tape."

This just proves that the polls showing Obama leading aren't worth a damn considering they represent the majority of voters who will step into the voting booth and wonder is it worth electing someone who has a Arabic last name.....

Russo is a moron. What he is doing isn't constructive in the slightest. It doesn't shed a speck of light on the election. You get clueless republicans, you get clueless democrats. And in this day and age you get clueless video bloggers. Jeff, these stillborn seals might not be so encouraged to think they can perform if you wouldn't link to them.

In all honesty, this clan of voters were never voting for Obama anyway. These are the ones who would tell the pollster they are not voting for him because he is black--no "Bubba" effect here. Palin has just given them cover for being accused of being racists.

Wells to tommysunshine: Asking these turkeys simple questions about how long they've been aware of Palin and Obama shows (a) they've been blocking out readily available Obama information for months on end, but (b) they somehow got positive reinforcement from the Charlie Gibson/Katie Couric inteviews with Palin, which were received worldwide as testament to what a pathetic, appalling and ill-informed disaster she is as a Vice-Presidential candidate and prospective President. How is it not constructive to point this out with the words of those being interviewed? His questions couldn't be simpler. You're sounding a lot more clueless to me than Russo is. There are ignorant people in all walks of life, obviously, but true ignorance takes vigilance and dedication to attain and maintain, and the people in this video are mind-blowing. They're off the charts. They don't want to know and refuse to acknowledge anything that contradicts what they feel and fear. I heard an observation on NPR last night, which is that to certain fearful low-information white voters, "McCain means more of the same and Obama means the end of life in this country as they've known it."

Yeah, that's right, kill the messenger. Here's something: on the Today Show this morning a McCain/Palin spokesperson said almost exactly the same thing these dough-headed, racist, shallow, ignorant people said - they are sheep and they do not think for themselves. I can't believe anyone would criticize the filmmaker or Jeff for posting it. These people need to be called out and humiliating. How gross.

The voters in this video are engaged in the campaign but at a very low level--just enough to know that Obama is "suspect" and probably a sleeper cell--all information courtesy of Caribou Barbie. Trust me--THESE hicks are far scarier that zombies voting for cigarettes.

This is an indictment of Ohio's education system.
These people are too wrapped up in anger and resentment at what they believe are threats to their heretofore comfortable lifestyle, and too intellectually lazy to figure out that they're being hosed by Republican policies, to know better.
These people deserve their angry and miserable lives. It's too bad that we can't segregate the country into two parts: people who vote for Obama get to be governed by his policies; those who support McCain get to spend their lives prattling on about dark-skinned straw men while they spiral into a permanent underclass.

Yikes - the lady who gets most of the speaking time in this sure does have a lot of hate in her eyes. As someone who was born and raised in Ohio, I can't say I'm surprised by this video, but it certainly is depressing. But, as someone else noted, these aren't undecideds/independents being interviewed - these poor rubes are part of the Republican base and were never going to vote for Obama anyway - not a chance. If Hillary were the Democratic nominee, they'd be aiming their invective at her right now. But, since it's Obama, a (my God!) black guy with a funny name, they've really got something to get worked up about. And oddly enough, they deserve Sarah Palin, as she really is one of them - a soul-less, narrow-minded asshole who takes direction well from the GOP masters.

Here is what is disturbing about the video (which I agree with tommysunshine that perhaps giving them a forum isn't the best idea) - it shows the seeds of what is going to become murderous, traitorous underbelly that the GOP is going to do everything it can to encourage for the next 4 to 8 years should Obama win.
What's truly despicable about what McCain is having Palin (she who sleeps with successionists) say is that is going to damage the office of the President. Because McCain can't wave a magic wand Nov 5th or pull a Jedi mind trick to erase the fact he pushed the idea that the President of the United States is a secret terrorist.
If you truly believed "Country First" then you don't do things that could tear it apart. Republicans like to talk a good game when it comes to "we live in a time of war," but only when it is to their benefit. Things like this are a constant reminder that when it comes to real Patriotism they so full of shit.

The Republicans have cultivated the "low information voter" by spoon feeding them talking points from right wing nutbags.
They regurgitate the line and feel smart. Then when they're exposed as ignorant the Republicans try to protect them by saying "leftists/Democrats are ELITISTS!"
Yeah, because bothering to read, write and actually educate yourself on the issues --instead of waiting for Fox, Rush, O'Reilly to do it-- is the mark of the undeservedly pampered.
I LOVE how this guy sets them up. Talk about hoisting the bastards on their own petard.

Wait a minute! Wait one minute!! I've heard rumors that John McCain was collaborating with communist soldiers in North Vietnam for almost five years during the war. Do we really know he was just a prisoner? Is there some correlation between the USA's fortunes reversing in Vietnam and McCain's five year rendevous with the north? Hmmmm...He was "captured" just before Tet '68 right? Coincidence??? Or Treason? Hahahaha...

what takes this to a new level, as glenn greenwald in salon points out so effectively, is that this lynch mob atmosphere is being constructed amidst a backdrop of profound and widespread economic catastrophe.
