Interesting. I had no idea there was a serial killer element to this film. I still think that Jolie is overacting (based solely on the trailers/clips) but it looks like a solid flick.
Stewart came off as somewhat film-literate in this interview. He's stated before that he rarely watches movies, so this came a bit of a surprise to me. Granted, a lot of his actor guests promote some pretty putrid crap, but it seems the guy would definitely know a great film if he saw it.
I remember during the writer's strike that Stewart said without his writers he didn't know many modern films unless you counted the stuff his kids watch - so expect most of the references to be from the 80s and before.
He probably does see quite a few via screeners as prep, but I doubt as many as some here do during any given year.

Cint is so fucking manly.
But why did Stewart call the film a "serial killer" story? Did I misunderstand something?

There is a serial killer element. Don't worry, not a spoiler -- it's set up early on in the film.

I watched it hoping they'd get into politics. Disappointing, but great to see Clint as always.

Stewart should have asked Eastwood for a recollection of Paul Newman. That might have been interesting.
