Ruffled feathers at Fox News over an unflattering photo of Sarah Palin on the cover of the current Newsweek. If they were so inclined, could the Newsweek guys have run a more flattering shot of the Republican vp candidate? Certainly. Did they go with this one because certain parties at Newsweek (along with every blue-minded voter in this country) find her despicable? Don't know, can't say.

What a bunch of whiners. I think it's a good "warts and all photo" but I really like it because it shows that there are two faces of Eve. She's one of the folks on one side but she's a power-hungry, ambitious, say-anything-to-win cunt on the other. It takes a woman to know it.

Oh God, funny! This campaign would be a riot if civilization weren't melting down.
Somehow they've forgotten about all those low-angle shots of Bush with the Presidential seal behind his head, making him look like a religious icon, or Superman.
Don't piss off the press. They used to looooooove McCain. He called them "my base." Then he inexplicably cut off access and alienated them, almost as if he were trying to lose.
Sometimes I think he really doesn't want this job. Who could blame him? "Sheeet, you already got money, beer and pussy! You’re 72 years old—just drink, fuck, and play golf, you dumb white motherfucker! "

I think they would be upset with ANY photo of Palin on the cover at this point.
They're not idiots, they know that Sarah Palin will go down as the single biggest mistake McCain made in his campaign. She is driving way more people away from him than she is bringing in from the base. I mean, if you have Republicans telling you privately that she is making it hard for them to vote for McCain then you got to know that she's bleeding undecideds for him like the victims in The Fury.
On Nov 5th if John McCain has lost every single night from then on he goes to bed, knowing Sarah Palin might have cost him being POTUS will be the bogeyman he has to live with .

Here's the thing about Palin. I get 50 emails a day from people sending me the latest ill-informed rant about how she's stupid, evil, not really a woman, etc. etc. Your welcome to think that. It's United States. If you want to believe that the other side has put up a complete fraud, a good-looking empty slut who just mouths platitudes that the base wants to hear because it's stupid and easily gulled, your welcome.
But before you do, recognize that there's a whole lot of people who feel EXACTLY the same things about Obama. That he is an empty suit, a handsome dude who sure as hell knows how to polish a resume but has never actually accomplishing anything in his life, in fact, so far as we can tell, he's been a fail-uppity on an epic scale, failing at communities organizing, failing at education reforms in Chicago, failing at bipartisan leaderships in the Senate. The only skills he has, in their view, is that he knows the right words to make the Democratic base melt at the prospect of lots of new government programs and meetings with the heads of France.
Now, does that seem like an absurd character to you? Well, guess what about your view of Palin. So if you want to win over the other side, recognize that what seems obvious to you about her may in fact be not at all obvious to other people. And there's always the possibility, in fact, that their more righter than you are.

Duck, we'll never win over people who think Sarah Palin is better qualified than Obama to be POTUS. If they/you don't see an accomplishment like becoming president of the Harvard Law Review as more substantial than winning Miss Congeniality in the Miss Alaska contest, then what's the point of trying? Your side's "empty suit" rhetoric is nonsensical when applied to Obama. On the other hand, it totally applies to someone who spends a lot of time primping for the camera but thinks, talks and acts like NASCAR trash.

Arthuro, I should just as easily point to Palin talking on her corrupt states and accomplishing real reforms, vis-a-vis Obama doing the biddings of Emily Jones, Mayor Daily and John Strooger. It all depends on what matters to you; if your looking for the best resumes you shouldn't be impressed by his records, but if your looking for the best records you should not be impressed by his resumes.
But then the fact that it took you barely 100 words to arrive at "Oscar trash" says it all. Sorry your exactly the sorta unable-to-even-comprehend-the-other-side-person-who-my-point-is-about.

Keep shoveling it, duck. You can't be a reformer when you hire unqualified friends from your high school to run your government while firing qualified people because they challenge your opinions. Your myopia is embarrassing. And ANY presidential candidate who falsely accuses his or her rival of colluding with terrorists (rousing your base to scream "Kill him!") is even lower than NASCAR trash. In fact, a line from PAPER MOON comes to mind:

I've said it repeatedly and I'll say it again, McCain was nearly the Democratic VP 4 years ago, now he's a right wing idealogue, sure. If there ever was a moderate Republican candidate your looking at him. The attempts to demonize the guy is a litmus test for objectivity. The people cursing him are beyond the capacity for rational discourse, it's that simple. What would you people have said about Huckabee or Romney?
The best post of the whole election season was the idiot (p.vice) who cursed out Clint Eastwood for saying something nice about Palin. How dare he.

Is not argument. It's an empty vessel, a fox news talking point, a vacant smile and a sycophantic nod of the head, a slice of Wonderbread and a glass of grape Koolaid, a waft of air against the backside of a nutsack that accompanies a wipe from behind. If it's credibility you seek, you may want to lay our your argument more fully. But do so in a civil manner. In the left echo chamber, no one can hear you scream.

To me, and I can't believe I'm the only one who thinks this or has pointed it out to Fox, the photo DOES look airbrushed, flattering or unflattering. I'd love to see the dumb look on that girl's face when she finds out it was, and she and Fox New basically just reiterated to myself and the rest of the civilized world that not even the best retoucher can erase Palin's hag-like profile. duck: "But before you do, recognize that there's a whole lot of people who feel EXACTLY the same things about Obama."
The difference is that Obama can answer questions.
"but has never actually accomplishing anything in his life, in fact, so far as we can tell, he's been a fail-uppity on an epic scale,"
Um, how can a guy who went to Harvard be a failure?
"failing at communities organizing, failing at education reforms in Chicago, failing at bipartisan leaderships in the Senate. "
He was the head of community organizing; any problems in education in Chicago are directly proportional to Bush's "No Child Left Behind"; and he's not a Senate leader.
"Arthuro, I should just as easily point to Palin talking on her corrupt states and accomplishing real reforms, "
You mean when she endorsed that Bridge to Nowhere?
Josh: "And football helmets come with burning pancakes. What's your point?"
My point is that you'd be willing to support an awful team, no matter what.
MDOC: "There is no civility or discourse at all over this election. "

"This board is a far left echo chamber and I appreciate you fighting the good fight."
