It didn't occur to me that he meant reverend Wright, but if he's implying that, why not fucking say it and not be such a little smirking twat? Makes me want to slap the shit out of him.
Well, if he's there repping McCain, and McCain says he's off-limits ....
But I would have said just that: "You know I'm here on behalf of Sen. McCain, and you know there are certain topics and individuals that he considers off-limits." Because, yes, the smirking twat thing is terrible.
Wright remains, I think, Obama's biggest liability, but all the same I think that McCain's kid-gloves approach to it is the only decent thing to do, because making it about Wright really does make it about race, and about the black church, and that's just not a profitable place for a GOP attack.
Eugene Jarecki has a pretty sharp take on the McCain un-Straighttalk Express machine as he experienced it following him using McCain in his Why We Fight doc.
He probably meant Wright...but if you watched Wright's entire speech it meant the exact OPPOSITE of what that 10-second clip showed.
Furthermore, Wright is no more anti-Semitic than any other Christian leader. It comes with the territory. Christianity is a fundamentally anti-Semitic organization so the point is bunk,
Wow. Goldfarb is a jackass. Of legendary proportion.
Deathtongue>> Thanks for the link and informative read. Why We Fight, which I saw a couple years back, certainly helped inform my generally positive opinion of McCain at the time, so I guess I was not alone there. Jarecki's story is very disillusioning and disappointing.

Just read that Palin's so out of touch she told Northwestern Pennsylvanians she was proud to be in the state of the World Champion Phillies. She received a "smattering of boos," because the people in that part of PA are Pirate or Clevland Indians fans
Perhaps the reason he was not naming names is that, once he was asked to name someone anti-Semetic on CNN, any answer would have involved a lawsuit for slander?

Sure. Clearly, the last thing the GOP wants to do is make this about race.
Even better was FOX's Sheppard Smith (of all people) dressing-down Joe the Plumber over his "a vote for Obama is a vote for Death To Israel" nonsense. Poor Smith looked like his head was going to explode.

One of the sweetest moments of schadenfreude I had all day (this was posted mercilessly on political boards all afternoon).
Probably too much to hope that the corporate media will start busting all the politicos with facts like this however.

Pretty telling and devastating critique.

huntermdaniels, thanks for mentioning Wright's entire speech. Definately not the anti-American radical Fox made him out to be.
McCain and Palin are getting more and more desperate.

They can't be talking about Wright as nothing he stated has been anti-semetic. If it was they would have brought it up when Hillary did.
I just think he was expecting to get a few pot-shots in but was surprised when he was called up on it.
