It may not look staged but it certainly sounds it. The key to figuring out any fake youtube video is to always listen to the quality of acting. Its tell-tale every time.
Wells to bcmcintire, lazespud: There's something a little bit wrong with you two for thinking this is hilarious. It would have been mildly (but no more than mildly) funny if the table had collapsed from the stress of Scarlet standing on it, making the video a metaphor piece about the perils of obesity, but she simply miscalculated the balance and weight factor (caught up in the American Idol imaginings, etc.). So why is it funny? 539,873 people have watchd and, one presumes, told friends at this thing since early this month because a young girl nearly breaking her back or her hip is thought to be hilarious. Ask yourselves what the falling metaphor is about and why people think it's funny. Ask yourselves what are you REALLY laughing at? I felt a little sorry for her from the start, and I knew she was going to go down so....so what?. The girl lives in a very spare apartment, is probably lonely, gets caught up in thinking she's Jennifer Hudson and suffers for it. Plus she's really hurt there for a minute or two. And then she recovers and goes back to her life. And that's funny?

It's not as funny without one of those background songs and sound effects from Bob Saget's show...

At least, the best man gave all the people at the wedding an anecdote that they can share if they attend another wedding.

It's a fake, but a GOOD fake all the same. Near perfect except for the exaggerated audio yelling "omigawd!"

Didn't look particularly real to me. And wasn't particularly funny because of it.
The scarlett video from bmcintire is, however, fuckin hilarious.
