You might already be on the verge of posting this, but the Obama's people have already cut together a "McCain May Not Be Bush, But He Sure Votes With Him" ad. Talking Points Memo has it here: http://tpmelectioncentral.talkingpointsmemo.com/2008/10/election_central_morning_round_185.php

The priceless item of the morning so far is from conservative Rod Dreher over at Belief Net who opened up a thread about the debate thusly:

"OK, that's over. And so is the McCain campaign. He was more aggressive than he's been so far, and he came close to landing some blows on Obama. But he never really connected, and for the most part this debate was as platitudinous as they all have been. McCain came off as sour, agitated and petulant. Obama -- man, nothing rattles that guy. McCain was two tics away from a vein-popping "You can't handle the truth!" Jack Nicholson moment, I felt. At one point, I thought: Which one of these men would I want in the White House when the 3 a.m. phone call comes in?"

I'd love it if we could replace that "N" with a "D," but talking about a candidate's intelligence is apparently taboo in American politics nowadays.

Why can't Obama's camp just say that Palin is a stone-cold moron? A simpleton? A woman who prides herself on being willfully ignorant?

For some reason, touting that you actually have half-a-brain or are actually qualified for the position you're after is considered bad form in American elections and... it's insane.

"NOPE"

My God, the genius of that. Perfect, genuine, complete, crystalline, pure.

I can't even look at her. She's a disgrace. A travesty.

I chuckled when I picked this up yesterday. Strange to come here and see the my city's weekly of choice right after the jump. The WWeek folks might have some delusions of grandeur, but they consistently put out a good paper - that is if you ignore some of their scandalous "exposés".
