This really happened, it seems. Two comedians from CKOI in Montreal. It's Palin's voice, clearly. "I just love killing those animals...it's so fun!" I think this speaks to her ability to read and judge and suss things out. Hilarious. Classic. It's not fake.

Jesus Christ. This is hilarious, but the potential implications are terrifying. If she can get outsmarted by these two noobs, just imagine the kind of disasters that could befell her taking calls in the White House...

The Palin camp issued an official response to it, so apparently it's 100% real.

It sure sounds like her, and apparently it's been confirmed.
If it's true, she's dumber than I suspected, and I didn't exactly have a high opinion of her to begin with. That phony accent... Johnny Halliday...prime minister Stef Carse..."documentary" Hustler's Nailin' Paylin!? The way she giggles and bubbles like a schoolgirl is almost worse than anything she says.
It seems like they were seeing how far they could push it before she caught on. But she didn't -- they finally just told her.
I know who Halliday is, of course. Don't know Stef Carse. You can't be expected to know the pop culture of another country, but how does a person running for VP not catch on that this is incorrect? She doesn't at least know the names of the leaders of our closest neighbor?
And how did these guys get through? Most incompetent campaign ever. Un-fucking-believable. Anyone still on the fence should be pushed right over by this.
(Man, I hope the Palin Defense Brigade shows up to tell us how mean and cheap this was, and how it DOESN'T PROVE A THING!)

Stef Carse is a French Canadian singer best known for his cover of Achy Breaky Dance (no kidding!),
The Justiciers Masqués also told her that the Quebec Prime Minister was Richard Z. Sirois, who's the cohost of their CKOI radio show.
A few bits in French you might not have gotten: during the hunting bit, they mentionned they should go "tuer des bébés phoques - kill baby seals." And near the end, they said Sarko's wife Carla Bruni had written a song about Palin, called "Mettre du rouge à lèvre sur une cochonne - Putting lipstick on a pig".

Man, that's pretty bad. Not knowing pop culture references is one thing but even with her lack of foreign experience, I'd expect the governor of Alaska to know the Prime Minister of Canada.
Reminds me a bit of a skit where Rick Mercer (kinda sorta like the Canadian Jon Stewart) got Mike Huckabee to congratulate us on the construction of our National Igloog.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K45UtvpGV_M
Mercer spun that into a whole special of "Talking to Americans" and getting them to say stuff like how great it is that we're now using the 24-hour clock...sad.

Those guy fucked up, as far as I'm concerned. Had they focused on actually getting her to speak as to stroking their own egos, they probably could've given her enough rope for her to go off and hang herself.
Instead, they just come off like two French dickheads.

They told her that they saw the documentary about her, Nailin' Palin, and all she can say is "That's good." This woman could not be any more dense.

Jeff, It's CKOI and they are by far the biggest commercial radio in Montrea. Indeed they have been doing this for years, including the Pope and W.

Wow. How did these guys get through? Either the McCain campaign is completely adrift and has stopped caring, or they really are out to get Palin and set her up.

whether it is funny or not, i don't care. what gets me is that this woman is supposed to be the most qualified person to ever run as Vice President.
Wonder how many of these calls Joe Leiberman (SP) took when he was a second class VP candidate in 2000.
