I think this is a major move for actresses in Hollywood because for the first time, a WOMAN has replaced a guy (Tom Cruise) for a leading role in an action film. I've never heard of anything happening like this before (unless anybody here can correct me otherwise)
I dont get along very well with my father, but my mom is pure joy, I adore her, have no iea how I would deal with her death, so I can pretty much feel Jolie's pain
Funky: He's an actor. He's got movies out and she's got movies out....but the word is he's not going home like he should. Makes you wonder....hmmm.....
Berkguru: She's got good genes and is part Indian/French....that helps.
Chicago48, nevermind. I thought I recognized your sn from an earlier HE encounter. A quick search of the archives put your strange "guarantee" in perspective. You hate Jolie & Pitt and get your info from tabloid gossip. If it works for you...
This is a bit of a funny thread. Ellen Ripley wasn't written as a man so much as the script was written with the assumption that any of the characters could be either gender.
Maybe not quite the same, but Morgan Freeman's Shawshank role was most certainly not written for an African-American.

I lost my dad 3 years ago yesterday and it still hurts. Doubt it will ever stop hurting so I know how Angelina feels.

Jodie Foster took on the lead role of FLIGHT PLAN, which was intended for a male lead.

IIRC, Ellen Ripley was originally intended to be a man.

I feel her pain. You never get over losing someone you love, you just learn to live with it.
On a more shallow note, she looks great.

This must be one of the weirdest comment threads ever, alternating between posts about action heroines and posts about loving your mother.

Aj needs to make up with her father. She has daddy issues. And if she's pregnant one more time, Brad will leave her. Guarantee.
Have you seen him lately? He looks like a drunken sailor.

Chicago48, you mean the Brad Pitt who's on Oprah telling the world he wants more kids? I guess guarantees aren't worth much nowadays.
Didn't Charlize Theron just sign on to a role originally written for a man?
