"It's so sad. I guess it's always changing. What else can I say? I just wake up each day in a slightly different place. Grief is like a moving river, so that's what I mean by 'it's always changing'.It's a strange thing to say because I'm at heart an optimistic person, but I would say in some ways it just gets worse. It's just that the more time that passes, the more you miss someone. In some ways it gets worse. That's what I would say." -- Michelle Williams speaking about late partner Heath Ledger with Newsweek's Ramin Setoodeh.

Late partner. They weren't married, though they did take out a marriage license when they lived here in Brooklyn. It's depressing walking past their old house.

If Ledger wins the Oscar, is Williams going to accept for him? Would that be too painful? Maybe Nolan?
It would be a shame if the person who read the winner just had to "accept it in his memory" or something uneventful like that.
I read another interview with Williams recently (New York Times, maybe?) and continue to be impressed with how eloquent and thoughtful she is, not simply regarding Ledger's death, but about her own life and career.

A stunning quote... Beautifully sad.
I fear that sometimes with actors, we look at their lives as film, as story. Revealing observations like hers are extremely poetic... but I almost feel voyeuristic for having such a strong reaction to it.
I wish her well.
