You may be on to something Roman. Not that you would know it, but I was drawing from a recent post Frost/Nixon q&a session that Grazer did solo (and not the 39 sec clip.) He is far from uncreative, an Oscar winner, prolific. Ron Howard is a national treasure. Not sure I am hip to Peter Bart's "artistic sense." My original point was that I did not find Grazer at all to be the "vastly overrated" player that you are hating on.
Roman, who precisely is overrating these two? I think the consensus is they make workmanlike, watchable, occasionally above average mainstream films, no?
Brian Grazer *is* a dead-ringer for Steven Weber. I kept looking at him knowing he reminded me of someone, but all I could come up with (mainly due to that crazy hair) was Tim Burton. By the same token, is Seth Green Ron Howard's long lost nephew?
D.Z. is apparently the new ad-revenue guy for darkhorizons.com. Give it a rest, man!
Ron Howard seems like such a genuinely nice guy. I just wish he wasn't such a mediocre director.
I haven't really liked anything he's directed going all the way back to Parenthood -- although I guess he does get an honorary lifetime pass from me for his involvement on Arrested Development.
Ron Howard has made a couple of decent films, but you have to wonder about him making "Angels and Demons." What worthwhile cinematic idea could he see in that?

Still dont know how the guy from 'Wings' became a movie producer.
Steven Weber & Brian Grazer. Long lost brothers?

Grazer is surprisingly generous and forthcoming about his process. He is also a bit more than 'just a producer', I guess maybe because of the hair.

No, Grazer just admits that he is uncreative (though, in this case the material is sort of dry) and doesn't see the ways into a project.
Regardelss, these two guys are vastly VASTLY overrated. And it pains me that Bart doesn't have the artistic sense to understand it.

Deathtongue: OCD is more like whatever turned Benjamin Button from a short story into a 2 1/2 hour movie. Anyway,
