Continental Airlines did its casual best to put me there. I helped out some, I'll admit, but it was mainly their doing. That's how I see it, at least. It's always "their" fault, right? The long and the short is that I'm sitting cross-legged on the floor at LAX, my initial flight long gone. Don't ask, the milk is spilt, the day is shot. But you have to roll with this stuff.

I once was stranded at JFK Int'l Airport in NYC for 6 hours. It was hell, but I understood that the flight delays were due to BAD weather. And so many passengers vented their anger out at these poor airport workers... lighten up, people. geez

Poor Jeff has experienced about as much pain and suffering as anyone I've encountered, give or take, and he still has the Hell of Newark Liberty to look forward to.

I visited Philadelphia four years ago. The last night of the trip, I rented a car and drove to NYC for a night with the friend I was travelling with. The friend had our copy of the flight itinerary, and told me we would need to be at Philly's airport by 8 am for a 9 am flight. We showed up at 8, only to discover that our flight was leaving right then. It sucked, but I figured I'd roll with it - as Jeff said, that's all you can really do in such an instance - and just catch the next one on standby.
The flight that finally had enough room for the two of us left at 11:50 pm. Sixteen fucking hours in Philly International. One of the worst days of my life, albeit one of my favorite experiences.

I got stuck in Salt Lake City's airport for a good 12 hours, until finally hopping a bus and getting to where I needed to get. It was hell, and I felt some sympathy for the airline workers, but not much. But I did meet a fantastic janitor at the airport, who told an amazing story about how he fled Somalia for the confines of Salt Lake City and loved it. He was a cool fellow.
I'm finished.

Jeff, are you aware that you can take Virgin America from LAX to JFK and back, usually for $134 each way? Brand-new planes, electrical outlets under every seat (so you can use your laptop without draining the battery), and a fantastic on-time record - last time I flew in from JFK, my flight arrived an hour early!>/i>
