I really liked Quantum. Yeah, there's too little of the usual Bond charm and I would hate for the next film to be so bleak; and a little time to catch my breath between action sequences would have been nice; but I like the idea that a "Bond movie" is a versatile enough vehicle that it can incorporate a stripped down actioner like this as well as a more thoughtful film like Casino Royale. The opera scene was terrific, a clever idea that would have delighted Hitchcock.
That said, the finale? Lamest reason for a building to blow up ever.

Careful, Andrew...the mention of James Bond and pyrotechnics in the same post just may cause actionman to blow a load in his patented Tony Scott-silhoutted-sex-against-blue-backdrop undies!

Schrader is raw.
Looking forward to your thoughts on Quantum.

Goldblum is legit, and the visuals are very stylie. To say it is a marketing challenge is an understatement.

I'm glad Schrader's good-luck charm has become Willem Dafoe. LIGHT SLEEPER is a god-damned masterpiece.

Dafoe was awesome in AUTO-FOCUS, and that movie is very underrated.
