Who Are These Guys?

What's up with L.A. Times guy Patrick Day and World Entertainment News Network's Kevin Lewin in Tom O'Neil's latest Gold Derby Oscar prediction chart? Seriously -- what's up with their waving off Kristin Scott Thomas's Best Actress chances? Neither are putting her in their favored five list? We need to mob up on these two, take 'em outside and slap 'em around.

I agree. WENN? Like the company that compiles IMDB News? Gimme a fucking break. Those predictions were so far off. It's funny watching these guys change their picks every week... based on what, exactly? Finally saw Changeling. No way that gets nominated for anything. I came around by the end but the first half of that film plays like a cruel joke. How many times does Jolie say the words "my son?" 100? 200? She just keeps repeating her reason for being. Same with Dev Patel in Slumdog. And now that kid is getting Oscar buzz? I'd give the 8 year-olds in that movie an Oscar nom before him? We know so much more about Jamal's brother than we do about the protagonist of the movie. I liked it a lot too, but no way it's a Best Picture nominee. Same with Milk. Close but no cigar. Seeing Doubt on Friday and I have a feeling it will deliver the goods. You know what's showing some staying power with me? The Wrestler. Could be a dark horse for Picture, Director and Screenplay in a relatively weak year for the latter.
