Anyone who says the rescuing dog is dragging the injured, possibly dead dog off to the side of the road so he can eat him will get his/her ticket stamped. This is the best heart video I've seen in ages. No other views will be tolerated.

Heartbreaking, especially as it seems to me that the first dog must have died from a direct impact like that.

I just had to put my 13 year old beagle to sleep yesterday, and this video actually made me feel better.

The second dog certainly seems to be shielding the first from further harm before he attempts to drag him out of the way. I'll bet about a hundred thousand people volunteered to adopt the second dog (and the first, if he survived) once this video was shown.

Of course no car pulls over because there is no room to pull over. There is no shoulder. You can't just stop on the freeway. That is suicide.

Yeah, you're right, "arch451." I didn't realize the lack of shoulder the first time I watched this. That makes it all the more heartbreaking. I swear I can see compassion, sadness, diligence and rectitude in that second dog's eyes, though of course I can't, based on the footage. But I believe those emotions were there.
