In a 12.15 petition, Tom Hanks, George Clooney, Alec Baldwin and more than 125 other SAG members urged guild leaders to deep-six a scheduled strike authorization vote. "We support our union and we support the issues we're fighting for, but we do not believe in all good conscience that now is the time to be putting people out of work," the petition said.

How is urging people to vote against a strike authorization not supporting your union? It's there right to vote how they see fit. Not supporting their union would be if they refuse to follow what membership eventually votes on.

I believe SAG would've asked for a strike vote long ago if they thought they had the votes to support it. I certainly don't think they have the votes now.
