This was the only trailer for this I ever even remotely liked, and that was entirely because of Morricone's score. Have you considered making a Razzie Balloon?
I really enjoyed Sin City and 300 and I've liked a lot of Miller's comic book work. But I can't defend this. It looks like crap and really shows off Miller's worst traits (his sexism and overreliance on style over substance).
Another Scarlett Johansson bomb???????? I am shocked, NOT. The media keeps on bashing Nicole Kidman and Kate Hudson, but Scarlet career after Lost in Translation is pure garbage. (Except for when Woody Allen saves her)
She has bombs, after bombs and if only it was good films, but its pure crap films.
What also bothers me about this movie is that it features the latest appearance from Samuel "Yell" Jackson, the version of Samuel L. Jackson who screams every line during his paycheck performances.

I guess this thing was made on the cheap using Rodriguez techniques and Lionsgate is dumping it on Dec 25th in a counter-programming move.
Otherwise, it should have come out in October or February when it would have cornered the market. Which suggests its not that good and Lionsgate wants a March/April DVD date.
On a subject somewhat related to this film, why aren't the effects techniques used in Sin City, 300, and this movie not being used more often in new projects being announced? You'd think a ton of potential effects films could be made for 50 million or so using this technology but somehow new filmmakers seem to believe only Frank Miller-related projects can use it.
Spirit, some people hear it, some people fear it
Spirit, some people just won't go near it
Sho' as I'm me and you should know you're you
Your spirit is the key to unlock the true you
Spirit, some people hear it, some people fear it
Spirit, some people just won't go near it
Sho' as I'm me and the skies are blue
The Ghostbusters are back and all brand new
After the trailers and ads I've seen, I just can't go see this.
I know it sounds melodramatic, but I think it'd just be too heartbreaking to see characters and stories that mean that much to me have this done to them.
I loved the look of Sin City and liked 300, but this looks awful. Remember all the talk about the innovations of Sky Captain? Talk about crap. Whatever happend to it's director?
This looks like the Shadow visits Sim City. The one thing it most definitely does not resemble is Will Eisner's Spirit. Frank Miller knew better and it looks awful.
I'm not particularly interested in the movie but I don't have a problem at all with the changes Miller made to the character. This isn't Will Eisner's Spirit . . . it's Frank Miller's Spirit. He's been doing this same sort of thing to other people's properties to great acclaim (and sometimes controversy) in the comics world so I don't understand the hubbub of him doing it in a film.

I know exactly how you feel. Halle Berry's Catwoman came out towards the end of Ed Brubaker's masterpiece arc on the Catwoman book that he revitalized (issue 19 was the first comic book ever to make me cry). It only added insult to injury.
