HE's tech guy Brian Walker wants to do what he can to resolve the Typekey problems, but he says he needs to know more than just "it's not working." If anyone wants to describe in some detail what happens when they've tried and failed to post a response, it'll probably help matters. I for one am able to post responses to what others have written, although I had some trouble a week or so ago. If Typekey keeps bugging out I might have to purchase a new program.

Is it ironic that Jeff wants people to comment on why Typekey isn't working?
Seems to be okay for me right now but I would just log in and...nothing. I'd type a whole comment, hit POST and then be asked to sign in again - rinse and repeat ad nauseum.

I would comment much more if signing in in general were simpler...any other website where you need to enter your info to access it, be it hotmail or netflix or whatever, it saves my info...this is the only thing where you have to tediously sign in every single time you want to comment practically. Why can't typekey save my info and recognize me the way every other site does? We also used to be able to click on a commenter's name if it was highlighted and the name was a link to that person's blog or webpage. I really liked this feature and discovered some cool blogs. I don't think we have that any more either, or at least it went away for a while.

i needed to sign in twice. good thing i copied and pasted my comments to my outlook since this problem happened last time too.
i'm no expert on good programs for sign-in blogs, but there's gotta be a ton of them besides typekey.

I'm using Camino on a Mac and it's probably going to make me sign in a second time in a sec just as rr3333 did.
I'll try Safari too.

So here's what it's doing to me:
Regardless of which browser I use, I sign in.
It then sends me back to the post to comment.
It then tells me I need to Sign In or Register with Typekey.
It sends me back to the post.
I log in again.
Then it accepts my post just fine.
That what it's doing to everyone else?

Jamie Stuart has passed along this observation: "I think the Type Key problem has to do with browsers. I haven't been able to post for the past week using Safari, so I gave Firefox a test, and it worked fine. I think the Type Key update didn't include the proper code for Safari -- which is the default Apple browser."

Same for me, sign in, I'm directed back to sign in again, post a comment, then tells me I have to sign in again, and on and on until death.
I've tried it in Firefox, Chrome and Internet Explorer. No cigar.

Works fine with Chrome and Opera.
As long as we're talking about fixing stuff. I'm really not into the "He's just not that into you"-trailer that automatically starts playing whenever I enter HE.

Firefox was having problems with it right after the update, but it's worked fine for the last week or so.

I've NEVER had a problem posting comments using the Firefox browser on my PC.
YET, I can't post comments using Firefox or Safari on my Mac whatsoever. It takes me to the comment page, but after I click "Post," it takes me to a TypePad error message. And this is only on my Mac.

I signed out of TypeKey on my Mac via Firefox; signed back in; and now I'm posting again via Mac -- if, of course, this went through.

Ditto on the complaint about that trailer playing automatically whenever the HE main page refreshes. Annoying as all get-out.

I logged in and just tried a post, had it denied. Re-logged into TypePad, clicked the "Remember Me" box, and we'll see if this posts. I'm using IE6.

Based on MoisesChu's post, I'm not sure if clicking the "Remember Me" box did it, or if it was just a function of the second login. I do miss the days when I was not auto-logged out every day.

I had the same lather rinse repeat cycle of signing in, writing the comment, then signing in again. I just thought it was the slumdog millionaire ads messing with my browser and my slow Macbook.
This is my third attempt to post this.
(Still running slow with the ads, but that's to be expected)
