Diversions

Tyson director James Toback, Mike Tyson, Sony Pictures Classics co-chief Michael Barker at last night's dinner at Park City's Bon Appetit in honor of the forthcoming Sony Classics release -- Saturday, 1.17.09, 10:55 pm.

Ran into, spoke briefly with Doors guitarist Robby Krieger and keyboardist Ray Manzarek yesterday afternoon at the Yarrow hotel. They were on their way out to the Temple theatre for a screening of Tom DeCillo's When You're Strange, the Doors doc that I reviewed on Thursday.

Starworks exec Allison Oleskey, snapped yesterday in Yarrow hotel lobby. Medieval-style head warmer by Thomas Wylde, designed by Paula Thomas, available at Maxfields in LA. Alternate rear view

A Sundance "pigfuck" is defined as any loud overcrowded party with even more people gathered at the front door looking to get in. For some it's a point of pride to never attempt entrance to such an event. Okay, for me it is.

Wells, you met 1/2 of the Doors? Way awesome! Also, Tom DeCillo should do a film written by Don DeLillo.

I guess I haven'r seen the fellas in a while, but damn! Those two look like death warmed over, especially Krieger. Some hard livin' there!

I saw them playing as The Doors Of The 21st Century almost five years ago. I wasn't right by the stage, but they certainly didn't look that old and were fairly nimble. Five years ago, though...

Not sure who's head tattoo is worse : Tyson or Marbury's. Both are certified idiots regardless.

Krieger & Manzareck are around Redfors age. What do you expect?

My husband, the ultimate in Door Fanatics, even said that Krieger wasn't looking too good. Guess the acid will catch up with you in the end, eh? Oh well, the guy can probably still play guitar better than 90% of the morons at it now.

Maybe that's true, but I saw Krieger play a shitty little bar in my town here about 6-7 years ago and my town is SMALL. Maybe he plays cause he loves to, but no one comes here to play live music unless they really just have to.

Not sure how rich these guys really are if they're still running around like this.

Krieger looks a lot like my great aunt Sadie. Almost a spitting image!

krieger lives a comfortable life in beverly hills , playing lots of golf and he looks like death warmed over. He's in his early 60's at most. Maybe that's what happens when you career comes to a dead hault when you're barely out of the gate. the money from writing continues to flow but damn, it must be frustrating.
