The New World

"The bottom line is that the old model -- let's go to Sundance and cross our fingers that someone is going to buy it -- is ridiculous," says veteran publicist Cynthia Schwartz, whose firm 42West is repping 15 films at this year's Sundance Film Festival and also consults on several DIY releases during the year. "Filmmakers have to take control. If they get a distributor, terrific. But if they don't, they have to have a Plan B. And for the first time at Sundance, I feel like people are getting that." -- from Anthony Kaufman's 1.13.09 Indiewire piece, "Not Picked Up in Park City? Filmmakers Look Forward to DIY Release Options."

I like that model as it would make it easier to more indie films
on the big screen in my area .

It would be a great model, if films didn't cost so much and break you if you don't sell one. I wonder if we'll ever see another Charlie Kaufman film again...

As YRG says, films are so costly and so exhausting for the independent filmmaker that the failure to sell at a festival nearly breaks them.

On the other hand, some of it is a lack of balls. Movies are expensive, but most films that aren't a Crispin Glover nuthouse experiment can make money if distributed at all. It takes some creativity and fortitude, but it can be done.

After a long time of searching on various of websites on this winter vacation, at last I find this delicate Mac DVD Copy with easy outlooking but powerful functions. I am a fan of dvd software and interested in studying neo-developed ones. Fortunately, the operating system of my PC is mac and this portable device runs well on it.
I would like to tell you how to use it with very simple words. After installing it, you click the Full Mode button or Main Movie button to select the copy mode that your need, and then elect the copy source from the pull-down menu of source. Finally click button to start the copy.
It is very easy to operate it and what you need is just a few clicks.
