Staying

Okay, now I'm not not leaving Oxford. The festival guys put me into another hotel -- a nice plastic Holiday Inn -- that has flawless wifi. All's well again. I missed, however, this morning's critics & media panel, which was moderated by James Rocchi somewhere on the Ole Miss campus. I was scheduled to take part, but I was so angry at the wifi troubles that I blew it off. I stayed up really late trying to fix things, couldn't sleep, woke up at 4:30 am, cranky and dog tired...the hell with it.

lol, don't be so angry all the time, Wells, at least you have WiFi rather than NO Internet connection... let's hope your hotel stay will be painless.

and do take some photos of Oxford, MS-- I've never been there.

jeff, big fan of the site, first time commenting.....

maybe you're a windows guy, but why do you have such a big laptop? that can't be fun to travel with. you should look into a macbook air. refurbished on the apple site goes for a cool grand. if you want a windows pc lenovo makes some great slim laptops, but they are more expensive.

fwit -- i second warmsounds suggestion...i was just given a lenovo over the holidays and LOVE it....slim, light-weight, great for travel, power to spare and stuff i'll never use (built in camera, dvd burner)....and i'm told it came in at just barely under a grand.....

I know this is not part of this thread but...

"Think about it...why don't you see photos of Christian at the clubs or TMZ video of him dining at Nobu or walking the red carpet pimping himself? I'll tell you why -- he's about the work, period. He's a family man living a modest life knowing it could all end tomorrow..."

TMZ just posted an LA radio interview where Mr. Bale called in and owned up to his "rant". I buy it one hundred percent. Good on him.

I am glad you stayed. I'm a huge fan of yours and I would really like to say hello. My film, "The Stanton Family Grave Robbery" is playing at 4:15 in the Malco 3, so if you aren't busy, please stop by.

Thanks. Enjoy the festival.

Dont shlep 7 pound laptops, Jeff.

Although the keyboards are a bit small and the screen's only 10", those 2 pound Netbooks are terrific. I'd get one with a 6 cell battery (battery would last apprx. 3 1/2 hours).

Zipzoomfly.com had them for $300.00!

I think Jeff needs a separate website just to contain his posts about his wifi status. I mean, it's never ending ... you'd swear the guy gets paid every time he types "wifi" for cryin' out loud.

This blog wouldn't be any fun without Jeff's whining.
