Precedent

In today's "First Read" column on msnbc.com, it says that President Obama "has a late-night date with Jay Leno on Thursday when he travels to California. Just asking: when was the last time a sitting president did the Tonight Show?" There's no mention of the drop-by on the show's calendar.

Will he take his teleprompter?

There's a reason Presidents don't do this after they're elected...most have had the common sense to realize it's below the office. Of course, most Presidents have had the common sense to realize that DVDs don't make a good State gift.

The World is collapsing and Obama fiddles.

Fuck yourself Moweka. Gordon Brown was trying to rub himself in the scent of Obama to ward off the growing consensus that he is a total useless fuck. When a real Prime Minister visits I'm sure he'll get a real gift.

And by the way, that was a nice set of disks he gave him. I'm sure he'll save George Washington's golden sword or whatever the fuck you would think is appropriate for David Cameron.

Uh, well, there's this massive economic meltdown still going on and many will tune out or turn off a state address. The Tonight Show is still where middle America tunes in and the thinking is probably that while he is in California, a little drop by might reassure some people.

Wondering how long after it's confirmed that this has been ADDED to his itinerary before the lying ass dogs on the Right start spinning it like this was the main purpose of the trip.

The Right fiddles while everything burns...

The Right fiddles? What power does the right even have these days? With Al Franken holding on, Democrats are one (ONE!) Republican Senator away from pursuing every piece of their agenda they want. Even at their peak, Republicans never wielded that type of power.

Quit bitching. Quit following the Olbermann example of (still) blaming the Republicans for everything. You're in power now. Time to start governing.

Mowkeka: As long as the moderates hold up the vote to appease the fascists in their party, they still have enough power, as far as I'm concerned.

"Even at their peak, Republicans never wielded that type of power."

At their "peak," they tortured people and lied about it. Now that's power!
