Why would you feel sorry -- let alone apologize -- for ordering a yummy dessert? Just don't scarf the whole thing if you're worried about gluttony/weight. That looks a hell of a lot better than what most of us had for afters last night, I'd wager.
Don't feel sorry for eating the Profiteroles, Jeff. Last night I ate a Bacon Chocolate Bar with Creme Anglaise. This was after eating Pork Belly with Kimchi and scallions. I had 'rhea most of the night. Good thing I bought the new Wire/Pink Flag 33 1/3 Book, because I had something to finish on the pot.
So far it's very informative. I didn't know that much about Bruce Gilbert, but he is definitely coming off as one of the more interesting people of the whole punk/post-punk era. The writer is doing a good job explaining the ideas behind Wire's use of sound and negative sound and how the considered their songs as sculptures. I'm a huge fan of the 33 1/3 series. Bloomsbury used to have a similar series of books about individual movies, but they only came out with 4 (Performance [excellent], Blue Velvet [so-so], Apocalypse Now [fucking awesome - the book is structured like an encyclopedia] and Goldfinger [meh]) before disbanding the series. The best 33 1/3 books are Master of Reality, Bee Thousand, Unknown Pleasures, In The Aeroplane Over The Sea, and Let's Talk about Love.
By the way: if any of you live in Los Angeles, try and go to Animal. Good food.
Book reviews, restaurants, true confessions of lust from deep within his heart...he does it all. And if he's eating roasted bone marrow and parsley salad and seven dollar jars of pudding, he's apparently weathering this economy okay.

I am a Tony Gilroy fan but can't get over how cheesy the trailer for Duplicity looks. Have there been any advance reviews?

Profiteroles?
Why are you sorry you ordered them? Because of the fat and calories, or because they didn't taste good?
If it's the former, well, that's what a post-prandial walk is for.

I'm not a big fan of dessert, but I'd make an exception for that.
I agree that the Duplicity trailer makes the movie look very mediocre, especially for all the talent involved.
MM - Need to investigate this Wire book. Pink Flag is one of my all-time favorites.

Agreed re: Let's Talk About Love
Also highly recommended from 33-1/3: The Kinks Are the Village Green Preservation Society, Let It Be (The Replacements) and Paul's Boutique.
I've always wanted to write one about Gunfighter Ballads and Trail Songs by Marty Robbins.

My dream 33 1/3 book to write would either be Disco Inferno's D.I. Goes Pop or Built to Spill's Perfect from Now On.
