I was skeptical about the soundtrack too but Mann is a sucker for Modern Rock and I've heard that the in-film soundtrack is more period-appropriate.

I'm pumped for it.

looks like Public Enemies was shot digitally, something I didn't think an old master like Spinotti would have been down for.

that trailer unfortunately doesn't blow me away. funny though how how Depp at 46(?) can pull off being 30 without problem.

A friend suggested that they still should have been more age appropriate and cast Leo. i responded that the-downer-of-our-generation needs to work with more Cameron Crowe's and less Michael Mann's.

I think it looks tremendous. I'm interested to see if Mann's use of digital has improved at all in the wake of milestones like "Zodiac" and "Che", because even in this trailer you can see some of the picture noise that was present in "Collateral" and "Vice" (I say this as a fan of both films). I don't mind the music; to me it screams "NEW MICHAEL MANN!!!", and that's a good thing even though it clashes with the trailer itself.

Good to see Depp sporting the mustache. I was afraid they'd taken license because that's the first time I've seen him wearing one.

I also like Kentucky-born Depp's downstate Indiana accent.

The trailer has the very clean look of DePalma's Untouchables, and I think that's a good thing. Very stylish.
