In a 2.17.09 interview with High-Def Digest's David Krauss, Warner Home Video's George Feltenstein said that a "murderer's row" of WHV classics -- Gone With the Wind, North by Northwest, The Wizard of Oz -- will be out on Bluray later this year. Since that article the GWTW and Wizard of Oz Blurays have been announced (but without a specific date) and the North by Northwest Bluray hasn't been announced. Is it being bumped into '10?

On the positive side, Warner reps confirmed in an on HTF sponsored online chat that Heat is going to be out soon. Woo hoo!
As much as I love NXNW, I want Heat more.

Yeah, and I'm sure they'll all be in that annoying book format because WB just can't conform to home video standards. Every snap case DVD in my collection is an eyesore.
However, if "Heat" is coming, I'm there.

I hope they do a HiDef transfer of WB's short about the South on GWTW that features the slave imagining seedless watermelons

Can't Warner Bros. just release the damn thing in a standard BD case? Judging be these pics, the thing is going to be an "I Am Legend" or "Casablanca" ultimate $60 edition -- I just wan't the fucking movie, I don't need a 15pg flipbook for god's sake!

By the way, if 'North By Northwest' came out this year on Blu, it would work out as a 50-year Anniversary deal -- I would think they would try their best....and then charge you $70 for it.
