Actual Approved Art

The slightly odd thing is that this purple candy guy, a part of a
special Transformers-brand M&M ad campaign,
looks like Bay. Right down to the beard follicles. Well, not so odd, I suppose. Why haven't the M&M marketers devised a software that takes anyone's photo and turns it into a little M&M peanut image? Americans need more ways to waste their time and money.

This campaign has been going on for quite awhile. There is a section on the M&M's website where you can create your own character.

Ha. I just saw one of these yesterday in a local store, except it was some nascar driver's face transplanted on to an M&M. I came to the same conclusion, it looks strange and way too creepy for a candy advertisement. It's the lack of caricature that makes them look so off. Who would've guessed that the "uncanny valley" would apply to something as unrealistic as a walking piece of candy?

If Bay finds anymore ways to sellout it will be a goddamn miracle.

This is the least appealing advertising for a foodstuff I can remember, even the Quizno's commercials about having sex with a toaster oven are a cut above. I seriously don't think I've had an M&M since I saw Brad Garrett in anthropomorphic candy form

By the tone of your last sentence, Jeff, are you suggesting an online M&M face-morphing tool would have less social value and would be more of a distraction than a discussion about the box office take for The Hangover?

I have been coming to this site for the last few years and for the life of me I cannot figure out why some of you come here to harass Mr. Wells. I don't get it. If you don't like him and his ideas (and his politics), why don't you go to another site? It's kind of perverse, and not in a good way, either. I'm just saying. You're free to troll whatever sites you want, but still, why?

Never a more perceptive portrait of both the
artist and his work....tiny, with a deceptively
hard shell covering a equally tiny portion of
meltable candy mush.

harrass? or share the opinion that box office talk is boring? I'm obviously entertained by most of what Jeff posts, otherwise i wouldn't come here. Am I not allowed to dissent over box office blather?

Jeff's our hero, but its because he writes about 'left over cake in his jacket pocket' and his 'bed & breakfast leaving hat' and his 'fat neighbor downstairs' and his 'A+ lady conquests' that we tend to bust his balls on occasion.
