Here's President Obama doing ten minutes of play-by-play commentary with Chicago White Sox announcers Joe Buck and Tim McCarver. "I don't hate the Cubs. I just don't root for them, that's all."
Obama, lookin' good in that White Sox jacket, did a commendable job throwing out the first pitch. Bush did a good job as well when he did it.
Partisanship not entering into it, I think this is one of the great traditions in Baseball.
FYI, Joe Buck and Tim McCarver are NOT the White Sox announcers... they were from the network. The White Sox announcers are Ken "Hawk" Harrelson and Steve Stone.
As a resident of the Chicago area I'm very proud that my President is a fellow White Sox fan. Despite 100 years of mediocrity, the Cubs get the majority of the headlines around here and the country.
The President's a winner, and he backs the winning baseball team in his town--the 2005 World Champion Chicago White Sox. Unlike Hillary Clinton, who's a Cubs fan, then a Yankee's fan, Obama sticks by his team.
Actually, those are Fox announcers, unaffiliated with any particular team. (Though McCarver played for the Cardinals, and Buck's dad was their radio voice for decades).
Maybe Barry's admission of hatred for the Cubs would be a step toward breaking the curse. If such is possible. The Nats will win the World Series before the Cubs.
yeah that was terrible prager. almost like they knew he was gonna bounce it in and didnt want to embarrass him. nice dig by Pooholes to keep it from looking too bad.
It was quite interesting how the camera seemed to pan away from the catcher (Pujols) just as the ball was getting there...
Perhaps Obama's staff stage managed this a bit too much. I'm not a fan of a lot of the President's policies, but I'm sure he's man enough to deal with a pitch that's a bit short.

Well, I at least found one thing that Bush does better then Barry, and that is throw a baseball. Ouch. Rough form.

Bush had to throw from the grass. At least Obama threw from the mound.

What was up with that camera angle that completely cut out Pujols? I hope someone was fired for that blunder.

Unbelievable that Fox didn't cut to the centerfield camera for the throw.
