A re-booted Madame Tussaud's of Hollywood will debut on August 1st. A press preview/walk-through happened a month ago. I'm more than a little impressed with the Bruce Willis figure; ditto the Jamie Foxx. The two most life-like figures in the NYC venue are the Whoopi Goldberg and Morgan Freeman. Other figures, however, are terrible. They look like celebrity look-alike models -- almost but no cigar.

If they were going to do Bruce Willis a'la John McClane, I think a physical Bruce Willis circa 1988 would have been more cool, not this old and weathered "Live Free..." version.

The fake Al Roker and Woody Allen were good too.

What I've noticed is, if a wax figure is done off a photo, it looks like shit (Springsteen as an example). if its done with a live 'model', its 1000x better.

Yeah, Live Free or Die Hard? Why not immortalize Mercury Rising or Striking Distance?
C'mon, 1988 Bruce, barefoot with a hose tied around his waist. The only way to do it right.

Why does everyone hate on STRIKING DISTANCE? That movie has a stellar cast. Anyhow was the scene in WHATEVER WORKS actually filmed at Madame T's in New York? An ex girlfriend of mine worked there and raved about the work, but I was amazed how bad some of them were.

Reallt impressed with the Bruce Willis statue. Looks like the real thing, as opposed to a lot of the other figures.
