The magic hour light -- gently muted and diffuse, almost like it was created on a sound stage by Vittorio Storaro -- is extra-special here. And by magic hour I mean between 8:30 and 9:30 pm.

Yeah, Venice is one of my favorite memories, too.

Or, at least it was, until I played Ninja Gaiden II -- now all I could think about when watching this video was decapitating werewolves while leaping from gondola to gondola.

Nice call on the "magic hour," Jeff -- my wife got some real nice footage when we were there last year, but then we left our camera at a cafe in Geneva about six days later.

Well, in the game, you have to run across the water like Ninja Jesus to a couple of those doors on the canal, but when I tried it in real life, I almost drowned.

They're beautiful-looking, sure, but the people living there are gonna be the first ones up against the wall when the Adriatic eventually rises. Did we learn nothing from Casino Royale?
