I've been in Atlanta since last night. A strictly personal thing. No industry tie-ins or allusions of any kind. Everyone deserves a little down time, and perhaps even an occasional semblance of a life. Out of here tomorrow morning and off to London tomorrow night for the Fantastic Mr. Fox junket.

It's bizarre and amazing to me that the studio is sending people to London for the premiere and the junket. It seems like a waste of money and lavish spending. Why not just have them attend a local premiere? Also, how in the world is that going to help their movie? Surely there are plenty of journos in London who could cover it without having to spend money on hotel and air fare? I don't see how flying bloggers to the Couples Retreat junket helped that film any either.

Wow. This picture is at least twelve years old. I don't want to be that guy, but the obviousness of it was striking.

I love this picture. I'm guessing 95/96 - the banner stuck to the front of Fulton County is a Hanes Olympics banner. (Hanes was one of the main sponsors.) I often miss the old ballpark, but my friends and I are all in agreement - we wouldn't trade Turner Field for it.

Well, crap man - a little advance word and I'd have given you some ideas (lived here since birth). And yeah, the photo is at least 13 years old.
Oh, and don't bring up Sherman.

Welcome Wells! ATL- We're the blue dot in a red state.
Yeah,I was looking at that photo thinking "Did Wells take a late afternoon chopper tour that also went back in time? Where can I get one of those rides?" (I work in downtown ATL.) The photo predates the 96 ATL Olympics.
BTW, the #1 movie last week, Zombieland, was filmed in and around ATL.
