An English-language Salt trailer went online last Thursday, or roughly two or three days after the Russian-language version turned up. The Phillip Noyce thriller won't open until 7.23.10, so there's plenty of time to tone down that CG-tweaked feeling in a couple of the action scenes. The Tangier chase sequence in the last Bourne film is the gold standard in this regard.

This should have featured Barry Pepper in a supporting role.

I saw the Russian version already and was amazed at how well dubbed it was. Not only did the lips mostly match, they got everyone's voice just right. I realize it was only a trailer but it was still surprising.

Phillip Noyce has always been a reliable, go to guy for this sort of material. He's a great craftsman.

I noticed it too where the police van leaps off the bridge and when the man standing before a lectern falls through the floor. The part where Salt leaps off / onto trucks were OK although they could probably also be improved. Overall a nice trailer. Piques your interest.

It's pretty clear this is a Bourne knock off. Noyce is a great craftsman but has never been an innovator. I like a lot of his movies but none of them have really pushed the boundaries. That being said, this looks like it could be fun.

rabbit proof fence is (obviously) his best film to date
have always liked Noyce's shiny professionalism when it comes to his big-budget actioners.

The rocket launcher attack in the alley is a a great set-piece, but it's not why I love CLEAR AND PRESENT DANGER. Ditto PATRIOT GAMES. I hope this has the character and quiet moments that make Noyce a cut-above genre filmmaker.
