Walking Papers

Friday, 6.18, 8:25 pm.

Interminable line caused by security goons tagging and plastic-bagging cameras prior to last week's all-media screening of
Knight and Day. Has a journalist ever been caught trying to video-record a feature at an all-media screening? Has it happened even
once? I'm just asking.

Do they really think this kind of "vigilance" is going to make a dent in the pirated DVD market? It's defining deviancy down. People who buy that shit are always going to buy it, no matter what. Can't they have someone walking up and down the aisles looking for that activity during the film?
Meanwhile, I was at a Borders today and they were selling GREEN ZONE, which comes out in stores on Tuesday. What's up with that? And what's up with all of these rereleased Clint Eastwood movies being filed in the foreign films section.

All-medias are not just full of journalists. They're big screenings and people bring guests. When you get your phone checked at a small screening that's truly just for journalists, then complain.
