I've just parked my car on a leafy residential street in Glendale, and I felt a sublime surge of calm and well-being when I realized there were no parking meters or residential sticker requirements. Okay, a sign said "No parking on Wednesday -- 8 am to 10 am" but otherwise it was a place of peace. I felt like I'd parked my car on a shady cul de sac in Bedford Falls in 1946. It's been the best thing that's happened to me so far today. That plus my accountant being a nice guy and shrugging his shoulders and wishing me well when I told I'm going with a new CPA.

I temped in Glendale for a couple of months. I loved the bookstores on the main strip and the Cubano sandwiches at Porto's.

Jeff, you just wrote the opening scene of a 1949 Edmond O'Brien film directed by Jacques Tourneur.
In other words, DON'T walk by that open garage door with the '42 Plymouth parked idling.
See that towheaded kid across the street on his Schwinn bike waving at you?
He's trying to warn you...

There are more Armenians in Glendale than there are in actual Armenia. That's not an exaggeration, that's an actual demographic and statistical fact. Armenians are kind of awesome, but I wish they'd explain to me how that car scam works where absolutely every single member of the family leases a 2012 BMW that costs 200,000 dollars. I've lived in this country for 39 years, I have 3 college degrees, and I drive around in the ROBOCOP MODEL Ford Taurus with no car seat on the passenger side... then Hgpop Derezarian, 15 year old kid in Adidas track suit, BLASTS past me at 125 mph on Central blasting some music that Vijay Amritaj would use to coax a snake in Octopussy.
And BANQUET HALLS.
Until I moved to LA, I never knew what an Armenian or Filipino was; They're both kind of cool people, but how is it there isn't a single IRISH or ITALIAN person in ALL OF LOS ANGELES, but there's like 8 million Filipinos? Where the fuck is the Phillippines, anyway?

I went to a Catholic High School in Sherman Oaks and yeah, 25% Fillipino and like, 2% Italian. I think it's just that Ireland and Italy are okay countries to live in while the Fillipines are really, really poor, hence a ton of immigration. And since they're more recent, they're likely to stick together for the time being, like the Italians in Little Italy or the Irish in Boston.

One of the best ways that is within the means of the average person is to purchase a high quality ninety-nine percent authentic is from jewelers who make gucci handbags. These jewelers utilize the same high quality materials used by the big name brands to make the watches that are affordable to the mid-sized budget. From the watch bands, to the glass on the face and the materials used for the hands and back these are the same in every aspect without the high price tag.
