Do not be fooled by the trailer: Enchanted is a wonderful Disney picture of the classic school, quite as good as Mary Poppins. Walt himself would have absolutely adored it. It is hard to remember when I last enjoyed a picture as much. The whole cast is wonderful, especially Timothy Spall and Susan Sarandon, but Amy Adams' performance is absolutely iconic; if my daughter is any judge, Amy Adams is soon to be worshipped as a goddess by young girls the world over. Even the songs are terrific.

Well, a Golden Globe comedy/musical for sure... and isn't Disney the ones who got Johnny Depp a nomination for a $300 million action franchise? I think between this and Carell in Dan in Real Life they have two possible candidates and Disney is really good about doing lots and lots of award screenings of movies that are deemed worthy even both of those will be more for performance than actual movie/direction, etc.

Sidestepping the personal attacks, let's get back to films, shall we? Haven't seen "Enchanted," however, the trailer was wonderful. It gave you a sense of the film without telling the whole damn story. One I'm actually planning to see in a theater.

At the same time, I do think this is going to be a good movie. I laughed when I saw a clip on Entertainment Tonight and I look forward to watching it when it is on HBO sometime in November 2009.

Amy Adams has a number of Oscar nominations in her future, so whether or not she gets one for Enchanted is irrelevant.

I fell hard for the trailer, though. Glad to hear that the movie delivers.

I ADORE Amy Adams, she should had won with Junebug (that performance still is locked in my mind) So talented, so natural, SO BEAUTIFUL.
The fact that she doesn’t get one percent of the media attention that hideous creatures like Jessica Simpson, Jessica Alba or Jessica Biel is one of he reasons Hollywood is in such bad state.

All I know is that immediately upon seeing the trailer, my girlfriend told me that, like it or not, we'd be there opening weekend. And if it's hitting a 26-year-old like that, it's damn sure hitting the younger crowd.

Amy Adams was great even in the friggin commentary track for Junebug. I wonder if she knows I'm stalking her yet.

Re Amy Addams: She's the reason that I want to see this movie, and I'm glad to hear that it may not be Disney dreck. Her performance in Junebug keeps me coming back to that movie, long after most films released at that time have since been forgotten.

Wiggumx brought something to the table today. He said that he likes Amy Adams and even admits to watching the mediocre JUNEBUG more than once because of her performance. Wiggumx gives good table.

Meanwhile, Sinclair brought his imaginary daughter to Bloomingdales and Serendipity today.
