Riding Out

Jeff's asked me to mosey along, so I am. It's been time to move on for a while.

I'm contributing to Badass Digest now, where I've posted a few disc reviews (for Antichrist, House, and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World) and a tribute to my friend George Hickenlooper.

I left Apple to start working for the Alamo Drafthouse family of brands a few weeks ago in a capacity that I can't share just yet, but suffice to say that my contributions to Badass Digest are not technically part of my job, but something I'm pitching in on while we ramp that staff up.

Arthouse Cowboy will be archived here for posterity (and so as to not break intra-site links), but the whole thing will be copied over to www.arthousecowboy.com (which has redirected here for the last five years), where I'll continue posting. More recent entries will be up at first, and I'll gradually do the drudgery that is re-directing links and so on throughout the half decade of archives. I've got a couple of way-overdue catch-up Home Video Guides that I should get up this week. After that, it's sayonara. For those who care, that Ozu series will get finished. Other things that I mapped out will pop up after the move too. If you've followed this column for any amount of time, it'll be a very similar experience. A fair amount of the fresher, juicier home video reviews will appear over at Badass Digest, and I'm still sorting out exactly what my regular contribution there will be.

Writing for H-E has never been the way I made my living (all of it or in part). I've always looked at this gig as the long-term internship that kept giving back, and it should go without saying how much I appreciate Jeff's generosity in giving me a sandbox to play around in however I wish for the last five years.
