Cloverfield [BLU-RAY] (Paramount Home Entertainment, 6.3.2008) Disguised under deliberately goofy, yet deliciously edible-sounding, aliases such as Cheese and Slusho, Matt Reeves' Cloverfield was produced and rushed into theaters under an equally appetizing shroud of secrecy. From last year's incredibly elusive Super Bowl ad to the film's viral marketing campaign, Cloverfield had everybody scratching their heads and drooling in anticipation. Aside from the as-yet untitled title and the Blair Witch-ian visual style, the film's biggest appeal was the enigmatic creature who was last (un)seen hurling the decapitated head of the Statue of Liberty onto the crowded streets of New York City. All we knew about the mysterious beast was that it was big and angry. Now that the highy-anticipated project has come and gone, one question has fortunately been answered: Cloverfield was a major success. (continued)

Kissing Palin's Ass

Looks like the Obama campaign is continuing to cater to the idea of kissing Palin's ass just to avoid the sexist card. God, has it really come to this where we can't even debate the issues because of politically incorrect bullshit? Ugh.

In this Politico link, the Obama camp is calling Palin a terrific debater. Okay, but does she have anything to say? That's another question. I'm guessing this is just a prelude to Biden's upcoming debate with Palin. It's going to be a boring kiss-ass exchange. He's not going to attack her and make her look bad, because Palin's like a poisonous frog. She's relatively harmless, but if you try to just eat her and put her in the dirt, she'll kill you.

I missed the Obama debate with McCain because I was in Croatia, but from what I can tell, it too was relatively civil and lacking spark. Cmon people, lets have it out!
